Slow Cooker Baked Beans Recipe
I loved baked beans and I remember as a kid my Granny putting these in her slow cooker early Sunday morning for us to have with our lunch after church that afternoon. She was the only person I knew who started her baked beans from scratch and not from a can and I can say that these are indeed the best baked beans you will ever have.
SLOW COOKER BAKED BEANS
Ingredients
- SLOW COOKER BAKED BEANS
- 1 lb. Dry Great Northern Beans
- 3 Cups Water
- 1 Cup Ketchup
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
- ½ Cup Molasses
- 1 Bell Pepper Chopped
- 1 Small Red Onion Chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
- Salt & Pepper to Taste
Instructions
- Rinse dry beans and pour into slow cooker. Cover with 3 cups water adding onion, pepper, garlic salt and pepper. In medium bowl mix together ketchup, brown sugar, molasses. Pour into slow cooker and mix in with water/bean mixture. Turn slow cooker on low, cover and allow to cook for 5 hours.
