Asian Turkey Meatballs for Any Occasion

Asian Turkey Meatballs for Any Occasion

Asian Turkey Meatballs

I love having Asian Turkey Meatballs in the freezer for lots of different recipes. They are super easy to make and it’s a great way to utilize sale prices on ground turkey or chicken. While I seasoned these with Asian seasonings, you can also use just about anything to season them to your liking. I use Asian Turkey Meatballs in a simple ramen soup, simmered with teriyaki sauce as an appetizer, or served with noodles of any form. You could even make miniature versions fold them into wonton wrappers for potstickers, wonton soup, or fried wontons. The choices are endless.

Simple Ingredients for Asian Turkey Meatballs

I started out with ground turkey that I found on sale. Turkey is a softer meat that takes on flavor well. I then added minced garlic, black bean paste, an egg,and bread that I crumbled into fine crumbs. I also grated fresh ginger into the mix. The result was a savory meatball that is low in fat but high in favor. I formed it into small meatballs using a cookie scoop and placed them on a parchment covered baking sheet. They were ready for the freezer and future recipes in minutes.

Asian Turkey Meatballs Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 T minced garlic
  • 1 T black bean paste
  • 1 T fresh grated ginger

Mix all ingredients.

Form into small, bite-sized meatballs and place on a parchment covered baking sheet.

Freeze, if desired, and store in a plastic zippy bag for up to 3 months in the freezer.

Other Seasoning Options for Asian Turkey Meatballs

You can make these Asian Turkey Meatballs in many flavor combinations. Try a simple Italian flavoring with garlic, basil, and oregano. For a steakhouse flavor, try Montreal steak seasoning or lemon pepper. If you’d like your Asian Turkey Meatballs to have a flavor you can use for any purpose, try simply using salt and pepper. You can then simmer your meatballs in any sauce for whatever flavor you would like, including pasta sauce, barbecue sauce, or make them into a simple Swedish meatball dish with some creamy mushroom soup. Asian Turkey Meatballs are a great versatile recipe for any occasion.
