How To Get FREE Coupons From Meijer + Why You’re Not Getting Them

Many of you may have received or just received coupons in the mail from Meijer. I am loving all of the FREE coupons to use at Meijer.
These coupons are for Meijer, and they are store coupons. This means you can stack these coupons with manufacturer coupons.
This is what my coupons look like (I get new ones each month):
I love that Meijer is doing this. I’ve been receiving these coupons for several months now. (they come at the beginning of each month)

Be sure to read the following original information about receiving these coupons. However, I do want to make a note that Meijer started sending these same types of coupons to your mPerk account instead of via mail. This started back in 2019, and I’ve seen these hand-picked offers in my account consistently. I still get the paper ones, but I also get them in my mPerk account. So if you have or used to get the hand-picked paper coupons, check your mPerk account to see if they are there instead.
So, the question everyone wants to know, how do you get free coupons from Meijer?
- Well, the answer initially seemed to be pretty straightforward. It (appears to be) tied to your mPerk account. This is why I have been preaching for years, always, always, always put in your mPerk information in when you shop at Meijer (and the gas stations). Even if you are only buying a pack of gum, their system (and other store reward programs) are tracking the way you shop.
You may ask, I am not receiving these free coupons from Meijer.
- Go into your mPerk account, in your profile to make sure your address information is in there and up-to-date. You can go under My Account- Shipping- And add your address there. However, keep in mind that just by adding your address to your mPerk account guarantees you will start receiving them. Keep reading to see what I mean.
Well, I did that, and I am still not receiving them.
**updated** After many of you have commented saying you have done everything, but you are still not getting the coupons, I decided to reach out to Meijer to see exactly how these hand-selected coupons work. Here’s what they said:
From Meijer: These are being sent out monthly, and the customers who are targeted vary from month to month. You are correct that the offers are based on what customers are buying. The program targets people who are in mPerks and people that are not, again, it varies month to month.
A question I asked them,”this keeps coming up in from my readers- they are saying that they may not get them, but their neighbors do. Is there a rhyme or reason for this?”
From Meijer: Currently, we are only communicating with about 2 million of our 11 plus million database of customers. We are using this time as a test and learn environment. We find the most relevant offers for each customer. {and before people grab their pitchforks and get upset about this, this is how BETA programs work. Everyone does not get the opportunity to participate in test/beta programs.}
**This means you may get them ONE month and NOT get them again! Again, this is part of a TEST system***
Conclusion: This is still in TEST mode for Meijer. Here’s how you can help if you ARE getting them:
- USE them!
- Let Meijer know you love the hand-selected coupons. (or if you dislike them, I guess you can tell them that as well).
- Continue to put in your mPerk information when you check-out.
And will these hand-picked coupons eventually go out to all customers? Not at this time.
- From what I have gathered (and from what many of you have stated in our Meijer group), they have been sending these out in various regions/batches. So if your information is in there, they may not have got to your region yet. *this continues to be true since this is a TEST for Meijer as they learn what their shoppers need/want.
- The other reason why you may not be receiving them is when is the last time you shopped at Meijer? If it’s been a long time, that could be why you have not received the free coupons.
- Also, if you were shopping at Meijer, but did not input your mPerk information at the register, that could be another reason why you have not received the free coupons.
What I will say for you to do is this:
- Keep plugging in your mPerk information at the register
- Make sure your address and information is updated in the Meijer mPerk account
- Have patience– maybe Meijer has not got to your region yet.
- Again, this is still in test mode for Meijer. It may stay around; it may not.
What type of coupons are people receiving?
Everyone is going to get DIFFERENT coupons. Why? It’s based on how YOU shop!
My conclusion:
After hearing from Meijer, my conclusion is this- continue to use your Meijer mPerk account, as well as to shop at Meijer for things you need. Also, make sure your information is updated on your mPerk account. Overall, this is still in test mode for Meijer, so everyone will not get them. Unfortunately, when BETA programs happen, everyone does not get them. Let’s continue to give Meijer positive feedback and encouragement so everyone will get them, AND they keep this program!
**** if you are not getting them and you did everything, have PATIENCE!! Meijer clearly told us that they are only sending these out to a percentage of their customers. Hopefully, this program will stay, and everyone will get them. But at this time, they are NOT sending them to every Meijer shopper.

My daughter receives meijer coupons in the end sometimes gives them to me. We only live a couple of miles apart and I have never gotten any. I would love to get them also. Thank you
Ok I’ve been more than patient and have used my M Perks each and every shopping trip but yet have NEVER received Meijer coupons. I sure would appreciate them. So how bout it???? Must say though I have used a gee I found on the shelves st the store which I did put to use. Still I’d like to receive my own in my mailbox.

I love that I get them exactly for stuff I like and buy there. Am just getting used to them. I missed the expiration date last month. Not this month. I have to drive farther but layout not too big or tiny. Gives me specific reason to shop there.
I suspect Meijer is obtaining customer addresses from their credit card use since no option to key in or update your address in your mPerks profile?
Don’t have their credit card but I do get coupons in mail from them. In northern Macomb County, Michigan.
I am in Macomb County as well and NEVER RECEIVE THEIR COUPONS …which makes me so mad considering my Meijers is the one closest to the sinkhole and I had to go out of my way to even shop there …but hey what do i.matter ???
I love my coupons that come in the mail. I am not very computer savvy. So Mperks are not easy for me. I called corporate and they told me that it’s trial. I get my mailed coupons from Kroger. But I like my Meijer the best. I hate to stop going to Meijer.

I have a Meijer cc both don’t use it much . I do use Mperks when I’m there. I shop the Petoskey Meijer and I get coupons but not every month
Hi and thanks for the info…Letting you know,when I go to my profile account(never have received coupons from them in mail) there is no where to put my mailing address,only e-mail and my zip..FYI I am in northern Michigan
I very seldom get any Catalina coupons . And never get any free coupons..I can spend $100.00’s and not a single coupon..then you see someone buy a soda or some gum and they get a handful of them.. Thinking something is wrong..
There are listings of what Catalina coupons are available and you often have to buy mire than one of the item to get the coupons to print.
Me 2 ..spent 200 plus yesterday thinking I am going back to KROGERS…at least I get coupons regularly…and when I clip these coupons they actually work at the register unlike the mperk ones on it ..never ever do they pop up anymore . Why spend the time clipping and planning only to not have them work
Denise, As mentioned in the post– this is a BETA program Meijer started last year. Kroget has been doing their program for several years now. Meijer is still testing this out- so they are not sending these coupons out to all of their customers. However, you can choose to shop where you please. 🙂

I use to get (and use) MIEJER coupons in the mail monthly, then it stopped about a year+ ago. I still shop there and I sign in with my phone number EVERY time I check out!
I shop at Meijer on a weekly basis, always use my mperk and usually my Meijer credit card and have never received coupons in the mail from them. My sister-in-law who occasionally shops at Meijer and when she does never puts in her mperk number nor uses the Meijer credit card… she gets Meijer coupons in the mail……
Same for me, Im there weekly, use mperks, but dont have their credit card, and I dont get the coupons. My cousin who does not have a mperks and shops once a month just a couple things at a time she gets the coupons

Always enter my M-perks number, have a Meijer Credit Card, have people ask me everyday about the coupons they have received so I know they are coming to my area but have never received even 1 booklet. My neighbors receive them. My address is in the M-perks system. ?????

Hi Julia, do you know if other people in your area are receiving coupons? It seems to be a slow rollout by region. So far, all of my theories of what I thought was the answer, have been nixed. It’s been a variety of reasons and ways people are getting these coupons. The best thing I can advise is to use your mPerk account every single time, and make sure your information in your mPerk profile is up to date.
I live down the street from Meijer in Flint Michigan. So I am there a lot, always use my mperks. My address is in my account. I see people in the store with them, but have never received any coupons in the mail.

i am a loyal Meijer shopper and i am a loyal mperks user i have never got these coupons, could really use them too.
We shop at Meijer weekly. We enter our mperks account every time, no matter how large or small our order is and we get the coupons every month. We live in kalamazoo, Michigan.
Also, if you work for Meijer’s you don’t get the coupons like a non worker gets. I find this very unfair, as, I have been a Meijer cashier for over 30 years and I see the coupons that come out of the Catalina machine. Not only do we not get the coupon that others get in the mail and, it’s very visible that a Meijer employee does not get hardly any Catalina coupons. I spend a lot of money there, I find it to be discriminatory. All of the Meijer employees that are coupons users will agree.
Hi Karen, I’m curious about something- I can understand not taking the Catalina’s while you’re working– but are you saying that you can’t get them when your OFF duty- just coming in to shop?
The past two months I’ve received an email from Meijer saying my coupons are in the mail and they expire on a certain date; as of today I’ve not received any coupons. Wondering what’s going on with them.

In conclusion- Karen if you are doing everything correctly- then there is NOTHING else to do, but wait. This is a BETA program Meijer is doing– they are NOT sending these coupons to all of their customers. Hopefully, they will continue to expand this program and reach more readers. So if you have done everything- you are not doing anything wrong. They just haven’t reached you (yet).

My mom, sister and I all live within a five-mile radius of each other and have done our grocery shopping weekly at the same Meijer store for 10+ years. We all signed up for Mperks as soon as they started offering the program. My mom has been getting the hand-picked Meijer coupons in the mail on a regular basis for about a year. My sister and I have never once received them, however, we both get email reminders from Meijer to use the handpicked offers that were (never) mailed to us before they expire! We have both contacted Meijer customer service about this, provided updated mailing addresses, etc and still nothing. The last customer service rep I spoke to offered to send a $20 gift card as an apology for the coupons never arriving, but that never came either.
Stacy, if you’re getting the email reminders– then it sounds like you are supposed to get them via mail. I wonder if someone is possibly taking them? Not 100% sure, but these Meijer hand-picked cards are targeted to specific Meijer shoppers– which means you should be getting them if you are getting the reminder emails. A possible suggestion- try talking to your post man/woman or going to your local post office to see if anyone is experiencing the same issue.

I shop there all the time always use my mperks, have never recieved coupons. Maybe Its because I have three generations who Have worked for Meijer.
Yes, I receive coupons in the mail and I love them! They are geared toward things I regularly purchase. My sister does not. Believe me, she is upset about it! We live in a small town near Lima Ohio. In my opinion, all mPerks users should be receiving them!
I agree, Deborah. Everyone should get them, but they are so random. Like I’ve been getting them for over a year. I didn’t get any the last two months and got them again for April. It’s so weird.
I received the coupons 2 years ago regularly. Then we moved one street away and stopped getting them. I did change my address in mperks right away.
I’ve written To Meijer Customer Care 3 times and they never mentioned a test program. Each time they told me they were issued through a 3rd party and had no way to contact said 3rd party. My daughter got them during a temporary stay at an apartment while building a house but stopped getting them when they moved to the house.

I was getting your hand picked coupons, and I used a lot of them. Then I received unusable ones , and it looked like my purchases were confused with my son’s. I wrote a letter to that concern, and was told it would be corrected so I could start getting the right coupons. That was several months ago, and now I get no coupons. Still shop every week at store 42, Saginaw, and worked there 16 years. Would really use and appreciate getting those helpful coupons again. Janet

Hi Elisabeth, these coupons are sent out randomly by Meijer. I would suggest doing the things I listed in the post – but it is random on how Meijer sends them out.

I was getting hand pick coupons at my house & my niece was getting them at her house. She moved from old house where she was getting them to a new house now not getting them (never changed address to my house) and now I’m getting them at my house in her name & she is not getting them at all, and I’m not getting them in my name anymore. Nothing was done by us to make this change. What happened ?????? and why would her moving effect my account ? Nothing ever indicated that she lived here (which she didn’t) or that I even knew her (lucky I did ) That’s very scary as to what other information is being changed for people without knowing it !!!! Please fix this problem immediately !

Hi Janis- the coupons that come in the mail are based on what you have purchased. Since you are no longer buying cat supplies (sorry for your loss), you eventually stop getting them and get more based on what you buy. So continue to put in your mPerk info every time you shop.
I do like getting the Meijer coupons, but I keep getting them for dog food…I don’t have a dog, and never have. I may buy treats once in awhile for someone else who has a dog….but I don’t, have a dog..
Hopefully, they will eventually start sending the right ones to you. Just keep using your mPerk info every time you shop at Meijer.
i have not received coupons for about 3 months. i used almost 100% of coupons. I shop only Meijers and for clothing, pet food, housewares,tools besides food and special orders at bakery. Why did the coupons stop ?
Why have my coupons stopped? I shop weekly, not3 or 4 times week (pandemic going on). Have not received coupons in several months. Still at same address. Would love to get some agsin!!!
Hi Donnie, have you checked your mPerk account? Meijer started sending those coupons via your mPerk account. So I would check your account.

I tried to do mPerks but the wrong town showed up .. do not know how to get rid of it…we are very low income and now I didn’t get my monthly coupons that we always get and have for years … Don’t know what happened but sure miss my coupons in the mail …..
I am in the NW Burbs of Chicago-Land. I enjoy the Coupons. However, I would like to change the marketing schematics of this coupons. I still receive the same coupons. I want to change the different coupons for different type of products.

I get these coupons, I think at least monthly, and they are definately based on my past purchases. However, many times they do not scan. Example: last week I had one for .25 cents off a green bell pepper and one for $2.00 off Charmin to 12 mega roll. I bought each item – according to coupon requirements – but the coupon did not go through. And because I have to multitask while at the checkout I could not watch as cashier scanned my coupons. Anyway…if you can, watch the cashier scan them and make sure they go through.

I live in southwest Michigan and used to get them monthly. I shop weekly at Meijer and extensively use my mPerks number. However, Meijer just stopped sending coupons altogether about 3 months ago. This is very disappointing as their prices are always more than other grocery stores in town.
I got these coupons every month for a long time. They stopped in September, 2022. With prices today, these coupons would really help. Hope I get them soon.
I received Meijer monthly coupons regularly for several years and used almost all of them every single month along with inputting my mPerks each shopping trip. Suddenly and without warning, the coupons stopped coming! But, they showed up for a few months as digital coupons in my mPerks. Now they’re gone and I’ve resorted to shopping at other places for my higher priced items (pet food, etc.) where I can find lower prices (Walmart, Rural King). I still shop at Meijer but not exclusively.
I guess I am fortunate to receive a monthly coupon booklet in the mail. However, it no longer is a coupon I can just use at the register. It just shows you what coupons are available, and you have to go into the Meijer website, enter your account and go “clip” ( virtually clip) these and all coupons now. I have tried for the past two weeks, to go into the coupon area on my account, but it does not work as it used to, I can not “clip” these virtual coupons and add them to my MPerks anymore. I can, however, schedule a delivery, not sure why I can schedule a delivery , but not clip the coupons anymore. I don’t use the delivery, or at least I have not needed to use the delivery at this point. I am about 17 miles from the nearest Meijer, we live out in the country in the rural area. I am not exactly sure why I receive the “hand picked just for you” booklets in the mail, but can not use them as is anymore, I am not sure why they changed the the coupons from being ready to use at the register, but now I must go to the website, play the game, by entering into my MPerks account to virtually clip the same coupons, that are being sent out, and I am a bit stunned that even when I go into the Meijer website, and enter into my MPerks account, I can not longer access the ability to virtually clip any coupons, anyway. I did report this to Meijer on the site, but, have not heard back yet. If anyone is having the same problem trying to do what used to be so easy on the Mperks account, which was virtually clipping coupons, but now, no matter what you go or what you do, you can not access the clipping coupon area, then it is a website error right now, maybe it will get fixed. I can easily bring up the delivery option in my area and that is all that I have easy access to now. . I did get a little box that came up that said that Meijer is working on their website, but that was last week, and I did not get the same message this week. Maybe the Meijer website is just not working right for the past 2 weeks. So, MPerks coupons can not be virtually clipped at this time. I often go to other groceries stores, because Meijer is usually higher priced on most items. If I can get in to clip their virtual coupons., I am more likely to go to Meijer. I sometimes fill a prescription there, or go to get a gift item, if I don’t order it first on Amazon, or I might look at their clothing, or maybe a birthday cake or cheesecake for a family member or child’s birthday. I am surprised that they send me these un-useable coupon booklets, since I don’t shop at Meijer as often anymore and I can not access the coupon clipping site this month. Maybe they will fix the website, maybe not. Meijer has never had a great website, but maybe they’re working on it, as the message said last week. Good luck, Meijer, keep working on your website, please and thank you! As od today, I can not virtually “clip” any coupons, so Meijer is less desirable to be at this time for shopping. I usually spend about $200 a week on groceries and assorted other things at the larger grocery stores.

Hi Gene- do you currently have an mPerk account? If not- sign up for one, (it’s free)- and every time you shop at Meijer, be sure to enter your mPerk account at the register. Eventually, that should trigger for them to start sending you coupons. Keep in mind, most of the coupons that are the exclusive for you ones, are digital and can be found in your mPerk account. If you already have an mPerk account, check your account- you may have them there.
the SOB in front of me in line today had a mitt full of Meijer-mailed coupons, along with the EBT card and a cart full of garbage food.
I had none of the coupons and had to pay for everything using money I had to work hard for.
This entire entitlement system should stop, TO BE FAIR TO EVERYONE, EQUALITY, no one gets a free ride.
Sounds like you should go complain to Meijer about not getting your coupons. And stop judging what others are doing – it’s best to mind your own business and not worry what others are doing. You don’t know their life or story.
