Meijer Meal Planning Week 9/17: 6 Meals $38 Bucks

This is the week of 9/17, bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE 

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based on a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Meal 1: Pork Loin Two Ways with Sauteed Butternut Squash  $6.94

  • 4 lb boneless pork tenderloin
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic (pantry)
  • 2 lb butternut squash, seeded and cubed
  • 1 onion, sliced (pantry)
  • 3 T butter (pantry)

Directions:  Place the tenderloin in a slow cooker.  Season with salt and pepper and garlic.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  In a saute pan, heat the butter over medium heat.  Add the onion and squash and saute until browned and tender, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Serve with the pork, reserving half the pork for the next meal.

Meal 2: Lemon Garlic Pork and Rice Bowl  $.99

  • 2 C leftover pork, cubed (pantry)
  • 1 ½ C rice (pantry)
  • 3 C water (pantry)
  • 1 lb broccoli, diced
  • 1 ½ T lemon juice (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 3 T butter (pantry)
  • 2 T olive oil (pantry)

Directions:  In a saucepan, add the rice and water.  Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.  Heat the oil in a saute pan over medium-high heat.  Add the broccoli and saute 3 minutes.  Remove to a bowl.  Add to the pan the butter, pork, and garlic.  Saute until the garlic is fragrant and tender and the pork is hot, about 4 minutes.  Add the rice to the pork and return the broccoli to the pan.  Stir to mix.  Add the lemon juice, stir and serve.

 

Meal 3:  Potato and Sausage Soup  $6.29

  • 1 pkg Hillshire Farms smoked sausage, sliced thin
  • 2 lb potatoes, scrubbed and cubed
  • 1 box Kitchen Basics chicken stock
  • ½ t ground thyme
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:  Brown the sausage in a Dutch oven.  Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer.  Simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 30 minutes.  Serve with crusty bread if desired.

Meal 4:  Barbecue Ribs and Salad  $9.45

3 lb spare ribs

1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce

1 bag Dole Chopped Salad blend, any variety

 

Directions:  Place the spare ribs in a slow cooker and smother with the barbecue sauce.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Prepare the salad as directed on the package.

 

Meal 5:  Braised Chicken Thighs with Pasta  $4.58

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs
  • 1 lg can Meijer petite diced tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled (pantry)
  • 1 t oregano (pantry)
  • ½ t basil (pantry)
  • 1 box Meijer pasta, any variety

Directions:  Place the chicken in a Dutch oven.  Pour the tomatoes, garlic, and seasonings over the top, cover, and bake in a 350°F oven for 2 hours.  Prepare the pasta according to the package directions.  Serve the chicken and tomatoes over the pasta.

 

Meal 6:  Beef Roast with Mashed Cauliflower and Crescent Rolls  $9.86

  • 2 lb bottom round roast
  • 2 head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 C water (pantry)
  • Butter and milk (pantry)
  • 1 tube Pillsbury Crescent rolls

Directions:  Place the roast in a slow cooker and season liberally with salt and pepper.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Place the water and cauliflower in a saucepan.  Cover and steam until tender, 15-20 minutes.  Drain and mash like potatoes.  Prepare the rolls as directed on the package.

This week, six meals will cost you only $38.11!
