Meijer Meal Planning Week 5/15: 6 Meals Under $43

This is the  week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE 

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

This week at Meijer, there are some great sales that will allow you to make some amazing foods without breaking the bank!  Check out these fresh recipes for your meal planning this week!

Meal 1: Alfredo Pasta Bake  $6.25

  • 1 pkg Meijer Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 jar Prego Alfredo sauce
  • 1 box Mueller’s penne pasta
  • ½ 10 oz bag New Star spinach

Directions:  Saute the sausage in a pan, breaking it up into small pieces, and drain when no pink remains in the center.  Boil the pasta as directed on the package.  In a lightly greased casserole pan, mix the sausage, sauce, pasta, and spinach.  Cover and bake in a 400°F oven for 30 minutes, until bubbly and hot.  Serve with Parmesan, if desired.

Meal 2:  Slow Cooker Beef and Beans  $6.17

  • 1 lb ground round
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 1 20 oz can Bush’s baked beans, juice included
  • 1 15 oz can Meijer butter beans, drained and rinsed
  • ½ C ketchup (pantry)
  • ⅓ C brown sugar (pantry)
  • 1 T barbecue sauce (pantry)
  • ½ t Worcestershire sauce (pantry)

Directions:  In a saute pan, brown the ground beef and onion until no pink remains and onion turns clear.  Drain and place in the bottom of a slow cooker.  Add the beans and mix.  In a bowl, mix the ketchup, sugar, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.  Pour over the beans.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Serve with bread, if desired.

Meal 3:  Turkey Burrito Bowls  $7.89

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 pkt Ortega taco seasoning
  • ¼ C sour cream
  • 2 t hot sauce (pantry)
  • 2 avocados, diced
  • 1 can Ro-Tel tomatoes, drained
  • 1 C rice (pantry)

Directions:  Brown the turkey in a saute pan.  Add the taco seasoning and add water, per directions on the packet.  Place the rice in a sauce pan along with 2 cups of water, cover, and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes, until all the liquid is absorbed.  In a bowl, mix the sour cream and hot sauce.  Arrange the bowls with rice on the bottom, then turkey, tomatoes, avocado, and sauce.

Meal 4:  Brats with Onions and Fries  $6.17

  • 1 pkg Meijer brats
  • 4 onions, sliced (pantry)
  • 2 T olive oil (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Meijer fries
  • 1 pkg Aunt Millie’s hot dog buns

Directions:  Place the onions in a saute pan with the olive oil over medium heat.  Saute until onions turn clear, then add the brats.  Cover and cook 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally.  Prepare the fries according to the package directions.  Serve the brats in the buns with onions on top and mustard, if desired.

Meal 5:  Cuban-Style Chicken Fricassee with Rice  $5.91

  • 2 lbs chicken breasts
  • ½ green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can Meijer peeled potatoes, drained
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 lg onion, chopped (pantry)
  • 6 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped (pantry)
  • ½ t cumin (pantry)
  • 1 pinch ground sage (pantry)
  • 2 C rice (pantry)

Directions:  Place the chicken, pepper, and potatoes in a slow cooker.  In a bowl, mix the tomato sauce, onion, garlic, cumin, and sage.  Pour over the chicken, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  When serving, place the rice and 4 cups of water in a large sauce pan.  Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, until rice is absorbed.  Serve the chicken over the rice.

 

Meal 6:  Apple Butter Pork Loin with Blue Cheese Mashers and Veggies  $9.48

  • 2 lb pork loin
  • 2 C apple juice
  • ½ C apple butter
  • ¼ C brown sugar
  • ¼ t cinnamon
  • ¼ t ground cloves
  • 2.5 lbs red potatoes
  • 1 tub King’s Choice blue cheese
  • Butter, milk (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Bird’s Eye Steamfresh vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Place the pork loin in a slow cooker.  In a bowl, mix the apple juice, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cloves in a bowl.  Pour over the loin, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Scrub the potatoes and cut into ½ inch pieces.  Place in a saucepan, cover with water and salt liberally.  Bring to a boil and simmer until potatoes are tender, approximately 20 minutes.  Drain and place in a bowl.  Mash with butter, milk, and the package of blue cheese to desired consistency.  Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package.

This week, six fabulous fresh meals will cost only $42.37!  What a great week to be a Meijer shopper!
