This is the  week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price.

Sales are certainly heating up at Meijer this week, getting ready for Thanksgiving!  Here are a few great recipes that are perfect for the cooler weather and your busy schedule.

Meal 1:  Shepherd’s Pie   $9.98

  • 1 ½ lb ground beef
  • 1 pkg Simply Potatoes mashed potatoes
  • 1 bag Meijer mixed frozen vegetables

  • 2 cups beef stock (pantry)
  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce (pantry)
  • 1 T cornstarch (pantry)

Directions:  Brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic, until no pink remains.  Drain.  Add in the beef stock and Worcestershire sauce; bring to a simmer.  Sprinkle the cornstarch over the top and mix.  When thickened, add in the frozen vegetables and pour into a large casserole dish.  Top with the mashed potatoes and bake in a 350°F oven for 1 hour, covered.  Uncover, sprinkle with cheese, and bake another 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted.

Meal 2:  Slow Cooker Asian Glazed Chicken Thighs with Carrots and Rice  $3.54

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs
  • ½ C rice vinegar (pantry)
  • ¼ C honey (pantry)
  • ¼ C soy sauce (pantry)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced (pantry)
  • 2 lbs carrots
  • 1 box Rice-A-Roni fried rice

Directions:  Place the chicken thighs in a slow cooker.  In a bowl, mix the vinegar, honey, soy sauce, and garlic.  Pour over the top, cover, and set to low for 4-6 hours.  Peel and cut the carrots.  Steam in the microwave until tender, 4-7 minutes.  Prepare the rice according to the package directions.  Serve hot.

Meal 3:  Italian Country Ribs  $7.27

  • 2 lbs country style ribs
  • 1 jar Bertolli red sauce
  • 1 pkg Meijer green box pasta

Directions:  Place the ribs in a slow cooker.  Pour the pasta sauce over the top and cover.  Set to low for 6-8 hours.  Serve over the pasta, prepared according to the package directions.

Meal 4:  Spanish Rice  $6.60

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 onions, diced (pantry)
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 C beef broth
  • 1 14 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 C white rice
  • ½ t chili powder (pantry)
  • 6 slices Plumrose bacon, cooked crisp

Directions:  Brown the ground beef, onions, and green pepper until no pink remains in the beef.  Add the remaining ingredients.  Cover and simmer 20-30 minutes, until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

Meal 5:  Turkey Dinner with the Fixins   $14.52

  • 14 lb Meijer turkey, thawed
  • 5 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables
  • 2 Brownberry bagged stuffing
  • 2 onions, diced (pantry)
  • 1 C butter flavor Crisco
  • 2 T salt
  • 1 T pepper
  • 1 T rubbed sage

**Turkey is 50% off when you spend at least $20 bucks in the store. This price is based on you doing that (esp if you’re buying other items listed here on the meal plan or other deals posted on the blog)

Directions:  Remove the giblets from the turkey and place in a small saucepan.  Cover with water and simmer 20 minutes.  Allow the mixture to cool.  In a large bowl, place the stuffing and onion.  Mix in the broth from the giblets and stuff the turkey’s cavities.  Place in a roasting pan.  In a small bowl, mix the Crisco, salt, pepper, and sage.  Coat the turkey with the mixture and wrap tightly with foil.  Bake in a 325°F oven for 6-7 hours.  (Slow roasting brings out great flavor and you have a moist, delicious turkey.)  Boil the potatoes and mash with butter and milk.  Steam the vegetables to your liking.  Add flour or cornstarch to the turkey drippings to make gravy, if desired.

Meal 6:  Turkey Pot Pie  $1.09

  • 2 C leftover turkey, cubed
  • 1 C leftover vegetables
  • 1 C leftover stuffing
  • 3 C leftover gravy
  • 1 pkg Bisquick biscuit mix

Directions:  In a large casserole dish, mix the turkey, vegetables, stuffing, and gravy.  Bake in a 350°F oven for 40 minutes, until mixture is bubbly.  Mix the biscuit mix per package directions.  Spoon onto the gravy mixture and bake an additional 15-20 minutes, until the biscuits are browned and cooked through. Serve hot.
