For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

 

It’s 10 for $10 days at Meijer this week, which means it’s a great time to stock up on your favorite things and eat for less!  Check out these great recipes for this week that will fill up your family without emptying your wallet.

 

Meal 1:  Pasta with Meatballs  $5.89

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg (pantry)
  • ¼ C breadcrumbs (pantry)
  • 1 t oregano (pantry)
  • ½ t basil (pantry)
  • salt (pantry)
  • pepper (pantry)
  • 3 T olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced
  • 2 jars Meijer pasta sauce
  • 1 box Meijer green box pasta, any variety

Directions:  In a bowl, mix the meat, egg, breadcrumbs, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.  Form the meat into balls about the size of golf balls.  Heat the oil and garlic in a saute pan.  Add the meatballs and brown on all sides.  In a large sauce pan, add the sauce.  When the meatballs are browned, add them in the saucepan.  Bring to a light simmer for 2 hours, covered, stirring often.  Prepare the pasta according to the package.  Serve hot with parmesan, if desired.

Meal 2:  Garlic and Rosemary Pork Loin with Mashers and Baby Carrots  $5.08

  • 2 lb pork loin
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 2 t dried rosemary (pantry)
  • 1 t salt (pantry)
  • ½ t pepper (pantry)
  • 2 ½ lbs white potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • milk and butter (pantry)
  • 1 pkg baby carrots
  • 1 T butter (pantry)

Directions:  Place the pork loin, fat side up, in a slow cooker.  In a small bowl, mix the garlic, rosemary, salt, and pepper.  Rub over the pork loin.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  About 40 minutes before serving, place the potatoes in a pot and cover with water.  Bring to a boil.  When tender, mash with milk and butter.  Place the baby carrots in a saute pan with the butter.  Heat over medium heat, stirring often, until the carrots are crisp-tender.  Serve hot.

Meal 3:  Cheezy Chicken with Rice and Broccoli  $5.83

  • 2 lbs split chicken breasts, bones and skin removed, cut into strips
  • 2 eggs (pantry)
  • 2 T milk (pantry)
  • ½ box Cheez-Its, crushed into coarse crumbs
  • 1 bunch broccoli crowns
  • 1 T butter (pantry)
  • 1 box Rice-a-Roni, any variety plus ingredients per directions

Directions:  Whisk the eggs and milk in a shallow bowl.  Place the Cheez-Its in another shallow bowl.  Coat the chicken pieces in egg then in crumbs.  Place on a lightly greased rimmed baking sheet.  Bake in a 400°F oven for 20 minutes, turning once, until no pink remains in the center.  Steam the broccoli in the microwave or in a steamer pan.  Prepare the rice per package directions.

Meal 4:  Salmon with Vegetables and Garlic Bread  $7.49

  • 1 pkg Meijer frozen salmon, thawed
  • ½ bottle Meijer Italian Dressing
  • 1 box Green Giant boxed vegetables, any variety
  • 1 pkg Cole’s Garlic Bread

Directions:  Place the salmon on a rimmed baking tray.  Cover with Italian dressing.  Bake in a 425°F oven 10-15 minutes, until salmon flakes easily with a fork.  Prepare the vegetables and bread as directed on the package.

Meal 5:  Slow Cooker Chicken Soup  $8.96

  • 2 chicken breasts, bones and skin removed, cut into bite sized pieces
  • ½ bag baby carrots, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced (pantry)
  • 2 boxes Meijer True Goodness chicken stock
  • 2 bay leaves
  • ½ C small pasta, such as stars or alphabets

Place everything but the pasta in a large slow cooker.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Add the pasta and set to high for 20 minutes.  Serve with bread or crackers, if desired.

Meal 6:  Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops with Pasta Roni and Vegetables  $4.69

  • 1 ½ lbs pork loin, sliced into chops
  • 2 eggs (pantry)
  • 1 C Italian flavored bread crumbs (pantry)
  • 1 C grated parmesan cheese (pantry)
  • salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 1 box Pasta Roni, any variety plus ingredients per package
  • 1 box Green Giant boxed vegetables, any variety

Directions:  In a shallow bowl, whisk the eggs.  In another shallow bowl, mix the bread crumbs, cheese, salt, and pepper.  Dip the chops in the eggwash, then in the crumb mixture.  Place on a greased rimmed baking sheet.  Place in a 375°F oven for 20 minutes.  Turn over the chops and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes.  Chops are done when no pink remains in the middle.  Prepare the Pasta Roni and vegetables per package directions.

This week, with all the wonderful sales, you can feed your family for $37.94.  Less than $40 gets you wonderful homemade meals for your family!
