Meijer Meal Planning Week 10/2: 6 Meals- $37 Bucks

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

 

There are some wonderful fall foods on sale at Meijer this week, and it’s the perfect time to take advantage of them!  Check out these six meals that will leave your family in smiles and with a full tummy!

 

Meal 1: Buffalo Chicken with Fries  $6.16

  • 3 lbs chicken drumsticks
  • ½ bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s Cream Buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 bag Ore Ida fries

Directions:  Place the drumsticks on a rimmed baking sheet.  Bake 10 minutes in a 400°F oven, then turn and baste every 10 minutes until chicken is cooked through and no pink remains, about 30-40 minutes total.  Prepare the fries as directed on the package.

Meal 2:  Pork Chops with Stuffing and Vegetables  $5.73

  • 1 ½ lbs assorted pork chops
  • 1 box pork Stove Top stuffing (plus ingredients per box)
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetable, any variety

Directions:  Prepare the stuffing per the package directions and place in a greased casserole dish.  Place the pork chops on the top, cover, and bake in a 400°F oven for 1 hour or until no pink remains in the center.  Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package.

Meal 3:  Brats, Potatoes, and Squash  $5.39

  • 1 pkg Arcadia brats
  • 2.5 lb white potatoes, scrubbed and sliced thin
  • 2 onions, peeled and sliced thin (pantry)
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 3 T butter, diced (pantry)
  • 1 large acorn squash, cut in half and seeds removed

Directions:  Grease a large casserole dish and layer the potatoes and onions, salting and peppering in between potato layers.  Top with the brats, cover, and bake in a 400°F oven for 1 hour, until potatoes are tender.  Place the cut squash in a baking dish, and place the butter in the seed cavity.  Cover and bake with the brats dish for 1 hour.

Meal 4:  Cheesy Onion Chicken with Salad  $7.62

  • 1 ½ lb Meijer frozen boneless/skinless chicken breasts, thawed and patted dry
  • ½ container Dean’s French Onion Dip
  • 3 T milk (pantry)
  • ½ box Cheez-Its, crushed
  • 1 bag Dole Ultimate Caesar Salad

Directions:  Mix the dip and milk in a bowl.  Place the Cheez-It crumbs in another bowl.  Dip the chicken in the onion dip to coat, then in the crumbs.  Place on a rimmed baking sheet.  Bake in a 400°F oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until the chicken is cooked through.  Prepare the salad as directed on the package.

Meal 5:  Ground Beef Soup  $5.58

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 1 small turnip, peeled and diced
  • 1 small parsnip, peeled and diced
  • 8 oz Meijer Fine egg noodles

Directions:  Brown the ground beef and onion until no pink remains in the beef.  Place in a slow cooker with the remaining vegetables.  Season with salt and pepper, add enough water to cover the veggies, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  About 30 minutes before serving, turn to high and stir in the noodles.  Cover and let heat for 20-30 minutes.  Serve with crusty bread, if desired.

Meal 6:  Herbed Pork Loin Roast with Pasta  $6.56

  • 2 lb pork loin
  • 1 t oregano (pantry)
  • ½ t basil (pantry)
  • ½ t rosemary (pantry)
  • ½ t marjoram (pantry)
  • 1 t salt (pantry)
  • 1 jar Ragu Homestyle sauce
  • 1 box Meijer mostaccioli pasta

Directions:  Place the pork, fat side up, in a slow cooker and top with the herbs.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  About 30 minutes before serving, heat the sauce in a small saucepan and bring a large pot of water to a boil.  Cook the pasta until tender, per the directions on the package.  Serve with shredded pork over the top of the pasta and sauce.
