What to Buy in September
September is one of my favorite months for so many reasons. It’s the beginning of Football season, great sales during the Labor Day Weekend and the kids are back to school! The harvest season is starting to come to a close and that means lots of savings in the produce department, but it often means some great labor day savings and end of season savings as well! Here are some of the best things to buy in the month of September.
What to Buy in September
Labor Day Sales- sometimes these are just for the Labor Day Weekend and other times, they last a week, but you can often get good deals at just about any store!
Free Coffee!– Some major retailers of coffee, Dunkin’ Donuts and 7-11 to name a couple, will be giving away free cups of coffee on September 29th to celebrate National Coffee Day. Check their websites for more information on hours and locations. Also, be sure to buy coffee this month (especially expensive k-cups) before it goes up in price due to cooler weather.
Outdoor gear– Get BBQs, patio furniture, pool accessories, lawnmowers and other Summer gear at a great discount this month as retailers get ready to clear it out for the cold weather.
Last year’s Car Models– You can get deals on last year’s car models as dealers try to clear out the lots for the new models that will be arriving in the next month or so. If you are in the market for a new car, this is a good time to consider looking and striking a deal.
Large appliances– With the Labor Day sales and new models coming very soon, many retailers will be clearing out the older models so this is the time to buy. Look for deals when you buy several at once.
Travel– If you are hoping to snag a good deal for traveling this holiday season, now is the time to get it. Plus, take advantage of good travel deals for the fall and late summer this month.
Groceries to buy in September:
National Chicken month– Look for sales on fresh chicken and chicken products.
Dog Food– Get deals on dog food and dog treats this month as September holds National Dog Week. National Dog Week is the last full week of the month.
Produce on sale- Peaches, Tomatoes, plums, apples, cauliflower, corn, eggplant, peppers, honeydew, spinach and cantaloupes. Since this is National Organic Harvest Month as well, you should be able to buy organic produce cheaper than usual as well.
