Meijer Meal Planning Week 9/14/: 7 Meals Under $60

This is the sixth week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. I’m still working and tweaking this system, so if you have any feedback, please let me know! For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $60, along with a few things from your pantry!

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates 9/14-9/20)

Meal 1 – Pasta with Meat Sauce $6

  • ½ Savory Roasted Chicken, shredded
  • 1 jar Meijer pasta sauce
  • 1 lb Barilla angel hair pasta
  • 1 orange bell pepper, diced

Directions: Cook the pasta according to package directions. While the water is heating for the pasta, heat a saucepan and add the bell pepper, sauteing until crisp-tender. Add the pasta sauce and chicken. Heat until simmering. Place over cooked pasta and serve hot.

Meal 2 – Cheesy Chicken Burritos $10.88

  • 2 lb chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1 pkg mini bella mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1 pkg Philadelphia Cream Cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1 pkg Meijer burrito tortillas
  • 1 pkg Sargento shredded cheddar

Directions: In a saute pan over medium high heat, add the olive oil, chicken, and mushrooms. Saute until chicken is no longer pink. To assemble, place chicken and mushrooms in the center of each tortilla. Top with cubed cream cheese and cheddar. Roll into a burrito and place on a baking sheet. Bake in a 400°F oven for 5-10 minutes, until cheese is melted and tortillas are starting to brown. Serve hot.

Meal 3 – Cheese Crescent Dogs $9.33

  • 1 pkg Ball Park hot dogs
  • ½ lb Wilmot Farms Sharp Cheddar (deli)
  • 2 pkg Pillsbury crescent rolls
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables

*You can snazz this up a bit and try a new twist by trying out my warping mummy hotdogs!

Directions: Cut hot dogs in half. Separate crescent rolls and place a hot dog on the short end as well as ½ slice of cheese. Roll up and place on a baking sheet. Bake according to the package directions for the crescents. Heat the vegetables according to the package directions. Serve hot.

Meal 4 – Spicy Rice and Sausage

  • 1 pkg John Morrell rope sausage
  • 2 yellow peppers, diced
  • 1 28 oz can Meijer naturals tomatoes, diced and drained
  • 1 t ground cumin (pantry)
  • 2 C rice, dry

Directions: Cut the sausage into rounds. In a saucepan, add the rice and 4 cups of water. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, until the water is absorbed. While the rice is cooking, saute the sausage in a saute pan over medium heat until browned. Add the peppers and saute until crisp-tender. Add the tomatoes and cumin and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve the meat mixture over the rice.

Meal 5 – Chicken and Apple Salad $6.50

  • ½ Savory Roasted Chicken, shredded
  • 1 bag Dole Greener Selections salad
  • 1 Greenhouse cucumber, diced
  • 1 pkg mini bella mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 Gala apples, peeled and diced
  • Salad dressing of choice (pantry)

Directions: Make a salad out of the ingredients and serve.

Meal 6 – Crock Pot Roast $10.35

  • 2 lb Eye of Round roast
  • 2 lb Russet potatoes
  • 1 bag baby carrots
  • 1 onion, chopped (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Lipton Onion Soup Mix

Directions: Place the roast in a large crock pot. Top with soup mix and veggies. Cover and turn to low for 8 hours. Serve hot with juiced.

Meal 7 – Tilapia and a Salad $5.50

  • 1 pkg Meijer frozen tilapia
  • lemon pepper (pantry)
  • 1 bag Dole Greener selections
  • 1 greenhouse cucumber
  • 2 Compari tomatoes
  • Salad dressing of choice (pantry)j

Directions: Place the tilapia on a baking sheet and sprinkle with the lemon pepper liberally. Bake in a 425°F oven until the fish is flakey and tender, about 15 minutes. Make a salad out of the remaining ingredients. Serve together.

Seven delicious meals at Meijer this week for a mere $52.56! How awesome is that?
