For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

 

Meal 1: Slow Cooker Pasta Sauce with Meatballs  $6.28

  • 2 29 oz cans Meijer Naturals tomato sauce
  • 2 t dried oregano (pantry)
  • 1 t dried basil (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • ½ 32 oz bag Meijer Italian style meatballs
  • 1 box Meijer pasta, any variety

Directions:  Place the tomatoes and seasonings in a slow cooker and stir.  Add the meatballs, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours. Prepare the pasta as directed on the package.  Serve with the sauce over the top and sprinkled with parmesan cheese, if desired.

 

Meal 2:  Pulled Pork Barbecue  $8.61

  • 3 lb pork shoulder butt
  • 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce
  • 1 pkg Meijer hamburger buns
  • 1 bag Ruffles potato chips

Directions:  Place the pork in a slow cooker.  Top with the barbecue sauce, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Remove from the slow cooker, shred, and discard any fat and bones. Return to the slow cooker for another 10 minutes.  Serve on the buns with chips.

 

Meal 3:  Tropical Chicken Thighs with Rice and Asparagus  $8.96

  • 1 ½ lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 can Chaohah coconut milk
  • 1 20 oz can Meijer chunk pineapple in juice
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 C water (pantry)
  • 1 lb asparagus, washed and cut ends trimmed

Directions:  Place the chicken, milk, and pineapple with juice in a slow cooker.  Cover and set to low for 4-6 hours. About 30 minutes before serving, place the rice and water in a saucepan.  Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes, until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender. Steam the asparagus to desired doneness.  Serve the chicken over the rice.

 

Meal 4:  Brats with Steamed Vegetables  $7.33

  • 1 pkg Meijer fresh brats
  • 1 pkg Meijer hot dog buns
  • 2 pkgs Birds Eye steamfresh vegetables  

Directions:  Grill or broil the brats until no pink remains in the middle.  Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package. Serve the brats in the buns with desired condiments.

 

Meal 5:  Grilled Italian Chicken Thighs with Grilled Zucchini  $8.28

  • 2 lb boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 bottle Meijer Italian salad dressing
  • 1 ½ lbs zucchini, sliced into ¼ thickness lengthwise
  • Olive oil (pantry)
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)

Directions:  Place the chicken in a container and top with ½ the bottle of Italian dressing.  Marinate for 2 hours. Grill chicken over medium high heat, basting with the remaining dressing, until no pink remains in the center.  Brush the zucchini with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill until tender, about 2 minutes per side.

 

Meal 6:  Bleu Ribbon Turkey Burgers with Marinated Tomatoes  $7.55

  • 1 ½ lb Jennie-O ground turkey (½ of a 3 lb package)
  • 1 pkg Meijer hamburger buns
  • 1 bottle Meijer blue cheese dressing
  • 2 lb tomatoes on the vine
  • ½ C olive oil (pantry)
  • ¼ C red wine vinegar (pantry)
  • 1 t dried oregano (pantry)
  • ½ t garlic salt (pantry)
  • ¼ t ground pepper (pantry)

Directions:  Form the turkey into 4 patties.  Grill or broil until no pink remains in the center.  Place the tomatoes, oil, vinegar, and seasonings in a bowl and toss to coat.  Serve the burgers on buns with blue cheese dressing.

This week, six delectable meals for four will cost just $47.01!
