For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price.

It’s dollar days at Meijer and we’ve scoured the deals to find some great ingredients for meals.  Check out these great ideas to keep your family fed and happy!

Meal 1: Slow Cooker Chuck Roast  $11.23

  • 2 lb chuck roast
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 2 pkg white or baby bella mushrooms, cleaned
  • 1 ½ lbs Russet potatoes, cleaned and cubed
  • 1 pkg Green Giant vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Place the chuck roast in the slow cooker.  Season with salt and pepper, top with mushrooms and potatoes.  Cover and set to low for 6 to 8 hours.  Prepare the vegetables per package directions.

Meal 2: Slow Cooker Chicken Florentine with Rice  $5.99

  • 1 lb Tyson chicken breasts (frozen)
  • 1 bag New Star Fresh Spinach
  • 1 pkg Philadelphia cream cheese, cut into pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced (pantry)
  • 1 box Rice-a-Roni, any variety

Directions:  Place the chicken in a slow cooker.  Top with spinach, cream cheese, and garlic.  Cover and set to low for 6 to 8 hours.  Prepare rice as directed on the package.

Meal 3:  Salmon, Salad, and Rice $12.34

  • 1 lb sockeye salmon
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • ½ greenhouse cucumber, sliced
  • ½ bag spinach
  • 1 pkg compari tomatoes, chopped
  • Salad dressing, as desired (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Knorr rice side

Directions:  Place the salmon, skin side down, on a baking tray.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and roast in a 425°F oven for 10-15 minutes, until fish flakes easily with a fork.  Place the spinach, cucumber, and tomatoes in a bowl.  Prepare the rice as directed on the package.

Meal 4:  Slow Cooker Barbecue Chicken with Tater Tots and Vegetables  $5.73

  • 2 lb chicken drumsticks
  • 1 bottle Open Pit barbecue sauce, any variety
  • 1 bag Meijer tater tots
  • 1 pkg Green Giant vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Place the drumsticks and barbecue sauce in a slow cooker.  Cover and set to low for 6 to 8 hours.  Prepare the tater tots and vegetables as directed on the package.

Meal 5:  Baked Ham with Potatoes and Vegetables  $7.54

  • 1 6 lb ham
  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes, scrubbed
  • Butter, sour cream, as desired (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Green Giant vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Place the ham in a large roasting pan; cover tightly with foil and bake in a 350°F oven for 4-5 hours.  About an hour before serving, pierce the potatoes and place them in the oven.  Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package.

Meal 6: Ham and Potato Casserole  $4.49

  • 3 C leftover ham, diced
  • 1 pkg Meijer frozen hash browns
  • 1 can Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom and Chicken soup
  • 1 can Meijer green beans, drained
  • ⅓ C shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¾ C milk (pantry)

Directions:  Place all the ingredients in a bowl and stir to mix.  Place in a greased 8 inch square pan.  Bake in a 375°F oven for an hour.

 

Six delicious meals, with leftovers, will run $47.32.
