Meijer Meal Planning Week 3/15- 6 Meals Under $41 Bucks

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $41 bucks, along with a few things from your pantry!  We aren’t talking everything from a box either!  These are pretty healthy meals, at a low Meijer price that will be pretty quick and easy to make any night of the week. You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Spring has sprung!  It’s time to take advantage of some amazing deals at Meijer for dinner this week.  If you can get to your grill, it’s time to get it in shape and start it up!

 

Meal 1: Chicken Cacciatore with Steamed Broccoli  $5.96

2 lbs boneless chicken thighs

1 can Hunts Pasta Sauce

1 onion, diced (pantry)

1 t oregano (pantry)

1 C dry red wine (pantry)

1 box Barilla Pasta, any variety

1 head broccoli

 

Directions:  Place the chicken in a small slow cooker.  Tp with pasta sauce, onion, oregano, and wine.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Cook pasta according to package directions.  Steam broccoli on the stove or in the microwave. Top pasta with chicken and sauce, serve with broccoli.

 

Meal 2: Beefy Cheesy Mac  $7.99

2 boxes Kraft Mac & Cheese

1 lb ground beef

1 pkg Sargento shredded Sharp Cheddar

 

Directions:  Cook the Mac & Cheese according to the package directions.  While the macaroni is cooking, brown and drain the ground beef.   Place the Mac & Cheese in a greased casserole, mix in the ground beef and half of the cheese.  Top with cheese and bake in a 400°F oven for 20-30 minutes until mixture is bubbly and hot.

 

Meal 3: Cassoulet  $4

1 pkg John Morrell sausage, sliced into rounds

1 can Bush’s Kidney Beans (or other red bean)

1 can Bush’s Navy Beans (or other white bean)

1 can Meijer’s Naturals petite diced tomatoes

1 onion, diced (pantry)

1 carrot diced (pantry)

1 rib celery diced (pantry)

2 cloves garlic (pantry)

1 T olive oil (pantry)

 

Directions:  In a stockpot or dutch oven, place the olive oil, onion, carrot, celery, and garlic.  Cook over medium high heat until the onions turn slightly transparent.  Add the sausage and cook until sausage starts to brown.  Add in the cans of vegetables, including juice.  Allow to simmer until most of the juice is simmered off, stirring often.  Serve with crusty bread, if desired.

 

Meal 4: Cheese Crusted Cod with Baked Potatoes and Vegetables  $6.54

1 pkg Meijer frozen Cod, thawed and blotted dry with paper toweling

1 C Cheese It crackers, crushed

1 egg (pantry)

4 baking potatoes, scrubbed and poked

butter (pantry)

1 pkg Green Giant frozen vegetables

 

Directions:  Place the baking potatoes in a 400°F oven.  When the potatoes are nearly soft all the way through, whisk the egg and brush onto the cod, then coat with the crushed crackers.  Place on baking sheet and bake for 12-16 minutes, until cod flakes easily with a fork.  Cook vegetables according to the package directions.

 

Meal 5: Slow Cooker Ribs with Rice  $7.98

2 lbs Country Style Ribs

1 bottle barbecue sauce

2 boxes Rice-A-Roni

 

Directions:  Place the ribs in a slow cooker.  Cover with barbecue sauce, cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Cook the rice according to package directions.  Serve hot.

 

Meal 6:  Sloppy Dogs and Doritos  $8.16

1 pkg Oscar Meyer hot dogs

1 can Manwich sauce

1 pkg Aunt Millies hotdog buns

1 bag Doritos, any flavor

 

Directions:  Place hot dogs in a saucepan and cover with Manwich sauce.  Heat over medium heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.  Serve in buns and cover with sauce.  Serve hot.

This week, six meals for a family of four will cost you a mere $40.63, before using any coupons!
