Meijer Meal Planning Week 2/12: 6 Meals $39 Bucks

This is the  week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE 

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

 

There are some amazing sales at Meijer this week, especially in the meat department.  Check out these six meals to see how you can make delectable meals for your family without breaking your budget!

 

Meal 1:  Chuck Roast with Broccoli and Rice  $10.89

  • 2.5 lb chuck roast
  • 1 14.5 oz can Meijer Naturals Italian stewed tomatoes
  • ½ C beef broth (pantry)
  • ½ C ketchup (pantry)
  • 2 T brown sugar (pantry)
  • 2 T Worcestershire sauce (pantry)
  • 3 T spicy brown mustard (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 1 T soy sauce (pantry)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste  (pantry)
  • 1 onion, sliced (pantry)
  • 1 lb broccoli, trimmed
  • 1 pkg Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice sides, any variety {or feel free to use jasmine rice for a healthier option}

Directions:  Place the roast in a slow cooker.  In a bowl, mix the tomatoes, broth, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic, soy sauce, and salt and pepper.  Pour over the roast, sprinkle with onions, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Steam the broccoli with your preferred method.  Prepare the rice as directed on the package.  Reserve the juice and about 3 cups of leftover meat for tomorrow’s recipe.

 

Meal 2:  Beef Stew Manhattans  $2.00

  • 3 C leftover beef roast
  • 2 C leftover juices
  • 4 T flour + water
  • 1 bag Meijer mixed vegetables
  • ½ loaf Sunbeam Giant bread

Directions:  Heat the beef juice until hot, including any solidified fats.  In a bowl, add enough water to the flour to make a thick slurry.  Pour into the juice while stirring and heat to a simmer.  Simmer for 1 minute or until the gravy thickens.  Add the vegetables and beef.  Simmer for about 15 minutes or until the vegetables are cooked to desired doneness.  Place bread on plates and serve the beef mixture over the top.

 

Meal 3:  Slow Cooker Spare Ribs with Mac & Cheese and Vegetables  $9.41

  • 3 lb spare ribs
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 1 box Kraft deluxe mac & cheese
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Place the spare ribs in a slow cooker, cutting apart if necessary.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Prepare the mac & cheese and vegetables as directed on the package.

Meal 4:  Cajun Dirty Rice  $6.33

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 2 pouches Uncle Ben’s Red Beans and Rice

Directions:  Brown the ground beef and onion in a saute pan over medium heat; drain.  Add the beans and rice, stirring to mix with the meat.  Heat through, until beans are hot and rice is tender, about 10 minutes.

Meal 5:  Roasted Chicken Thighs with a Side of Pasta  $4.47

  • 2 lb chicken thighs
  • 1 jar Meijer pasta sauce, any variety
  • 1 box Meijer green box pasta

Directions:  Place the chicken in an oven proof pan.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper, cover with foil, and bake in a 375°F oven for 1 hour or until no pink remains near the bone.  Uncover and bake another 5-10 minutes to crisp.  Heat the pasta sauce to a simmer and prepare the pasta as directed on the package.

Meal 6:  Baked Pork Chops with Cheesy Potatoes and Vegetables  $6.38

  • 1 ½ lb assorted pork chops
  • 2.5 lb red potatoes, scrubbed and sliced thin
  • 1 onion, sliced thin (pantry)
  • 1 8 oz pkg Meijer extra sharp shredded cheddar
  • ½ C milk (pantry)
  • 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Lightly grease a casserole dish and layer the potatoes, onions, and cheddar cheese, Pour the milk over the top, place the pork chops on top, cover, and bake in a 375°F oven for an hour or until the potatoes are tender and pork is no longer pink near the bone.  Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package.

This week, six meals will cost you only $39.48!
