Meijer Meal Planning Week 10/18 : 6 Meals Under $45

This is the  week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE 

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Meijer sales this week give you a great opportunity to try some new dishes with your family.  Check out these great recipes for easy meals this week, and save some serious cash in your grocery bill!

Meal 1:  Ham and Swiss Quiche  $4.27

  • ½ pkg Pillsbury pie crust (1 crust)
  • 8 slices Meijer bacon, diced
  • 2 yellow onions, diced
  • 1 C Swiss cheese
  • 4 eggs (pantry)
  • 1 ½ C milk (pantry)
  • salt and pepper (pantry)

Directions:  Saute the bacon and onions in a pan over medium heat until bacon is crispy and onions start to turn clear.   Remove from heat and drain.  Place the pie crust in a pie pan per package directions.  Sprinkle the bacon, onions, and cheese on the crust.  Whisk the eggs, milk, and seasonings, then pour over the bacon mixture.  Bake in a 375°F oven until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, about 35-40 minutes.  Serve warm.

 

Meal 2:  Slow Cooker Pasta with Meatballs  $7.95

  • ½ pkg Johnsonville Italian Style Meatballs
  • 3 15 oz cans Meijer Naturals tomato sauce
  • 2 15 oz cans Meijer Naturals petite diced tomatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 2 T dried oregano (pantry)
  • 2 T dried parsley (pantry)
  • 1 T dried basil (pantry)
  • 1 t dried marjoram (pantry)
  • Salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Barilla pasta, any variety

Directions:  In a slow cooker, place the meatballs, tomatoes, garlic, and seasonings.  Stir lightly, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Cook the pasta per the package directions.  Serve hot.

 

Meal 3:  Pretzel Chicken with Pan Fried Potatoes and Vegetables  $4.37

  • 2 lbs chicken legs and thighs
  • 2 eggs (pantry)
  • 3 T milk (pantry)
  • ½ bag Snyder’s pretzels, crushed
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes, scrubbed and cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 4 T butter (pantry)
  • salt and pepper (pantry)
  • 1 bag Bird’s Eye frozen vegetables, any variety

Directions:  In a bowl, whisk the eggs and milk.  Place the crushed pretzels in another bowl.  Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.  Dredge the chicken in the egg mixture, then coat in the pretzels.  Place on the baking sheet.  Bake in a 375°F oven for 30-40 minutes, until no pink remains in the chicken.  While the chicken is baking, place the potatoes and butter in a saute pan over medium heat.  Once the potatoes start to brown, cover and steam until they are tender, about 20 minutes.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper.  Prepare the vegetables according to package directions.  Serve hot.

Meal 4:  Slow Cooker Sausage and Potatoes  $9.49

  • 1 3 lb bag yellow flesh potatoes, scrubbed and cubed
  • 2 pkgs Johnsonville smoked sausage, cut into ½” slices
  • 1 pkg Philadelphia cream cheese
  • 1 can Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom soup

Directions:  Place the potatoes and sausage in a slow cooker.  Mix the cream cheese and soup in a bowl and pour over the top.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours. Serve hot with crusty bread, if desired.

Meal 5:  Easy Corn Chowder  $10.65

  • 1 lb chicken thighs
  • 2 pkgs Meijer natural chicken stock
  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes, scrubbed and cubed
  • 3 carrots, scrubbed and sliced
  • 2 ribs celery, scrubbed and sliced
  • 2 pkgs frozen corn
  • 2 C milk (pantry)

Directions:  Place the chicken and stock in stock pot. Simmer until the chicken is tender and cooked.  Remove the chicken and all of the bones from the pot.  Cut the chicken from the bones and return to the pot.  Add the potatoes, carrots, and celery.  Simmer 40 minutes.  Add the corn and simmer for 5 minutes.  Add the milk and serve hot.

Meal 6:  Bagel Pizzas  $7.88

  • 1 pkg Meijer bagels, split
  • 1 pkg Kraft mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 pkg Jimmy Dean Italian sausage, browned and drained
  • 1 jar Meijer Natural pizza sauce

Directions:  Place the bagel halves, cut side up, on a baking sheet.  Spoon the pizza sauce over the cut side.  Sprinkle with sausage and cheese.  Bake in a 375°F oven for 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly.

This week, with only $44.61, you can fill your family’s bellies with a great variety of delicious foods and spend more time with them with these simple recipes!  Have a great week!
