What To Expect At Lansing, MI Common Ground Music Festival

If you are a fan of music like we all are then you will love the great music festival happening THIS WEEK in Lansing, MI. Since it may be a new place for some to visit, we thought we would throw together a few tips on What To Expect At Lansing, MI Common Ground Music Festival.  Music venues can be amazing places to go as a couple, alone or with your girlfriends.  Sometimes they are super family friendly and great for an all-day family adventure as well.  Knowing a bit of info ahead of time and planning in advance will help make sure you know what to expect and are properly prepared.  And for A Mitten Full Of Savings hometown – this is a HUGE event that we are excited about.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT LANSING, MI COMMON GROUND MUSIC FESTIVAL

INSANELY GREAT ARTISTS.  This isn’t some run of the mill music festival.  Sure, there will be local talent milling about but you are really going for the big names.  This year you can check out their schedule for all the names and times they will be playing, but here is a sampling of artists you can expect to see at this festival: T-Pain, Kevin Gates, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Lex J (Lansing Native), Gucci Mane, Halsey, and Logic.

FUN ACTIVITIES. Ziplining, Hammock Hangout, Ultimate Painting, The Color Run and more will be happening this week!

IT WILL BE CROWDED.  This is a given, but bears repeating.  If crowds aren’t your thing this may not be the event for you.  If you are bringing your kids along with you it may be wise to make sure they are aware of how crowded and loud it will be.  If you aren’t sure how they will handle this event, it may be something you want to pass.

KIDS UNDER 6 ARE FREE WITH ADULT TICKET PURCHASE.  If you have little ones they will get in free with an adult ticket purchase.  This is a savings of around $35 per day per child so great for those couples with a few younger kids in tow.  As always make sure you are aware that although kids are welcome, it may be a bit overly stimulating for the younger kids.

BE PREPARED TO PARK AND WALK.  As with any venue of this size, there is no real “up front parking”.  Be prepared to walk a bit from your car to the festival.  Also realize the festival itself takes up a considerable amount of space and you will be all over the place.  Dress appropriately and come prepared. Pro-tip: Take an Uber to the festival and get dropped off right at the entrance. They have a designated area right in the front for drop-off/pick-up.

GREAT FOOD VENDORS INSIDE FESTIVAL  While you cannot bring your own cooler and food, you are sure to find a large variety of great food available at the festival.  With all the classic food vendors on site, there will be something available for everyone.  Didn’t bring cash with you?  Don’t stress too much as there will be ATM’s on site for your convenience.  This information and host of other last minute questions can easily be answered on their FAQ’s page.

When is Common Ground this year?

It starts July 5th – July 8th.

Tickets are on sale for individual day passes, VIP accommodations as well as full festival passes ranging from $35-$125 or more.  Check out the ticket sales page of their site to determine your family pass needs.  Alcohol will be available on premises for those wishing to drink but you must have a valid ID to purchase.  This is also a warning that some families may wish to leave their kids at home with a babysitter if they tend to be sensitive to those drinking and occasionally behaving a bit more “relaxed”.

Make sure to follow along on their Facebook feed for information and contests throughout the festival!

I’m super excited about this year’s line up of exciting talent! We have a lot of awesome things happening in the #lovelansing area!
